Bringing Communities Together, One Game at a Time
On September 25, IRSSS was thrilled to join the BC Lions, fans, and community members at BC Place in Vancouver for the 6th annual Orange Shirt Day game. The stands were a sea of orange as thousands of fans came together to honour Survivors and recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Seeing a whole stadium united in orange was a joyful reminder of how sport can bring people together to support and uplift one another.
We are deeply grateful to our host Nations, the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, for warmly welcoming us to their territories and sharing in this meaningful day with us.
A huge thank you to the BC Lions for many incredible years of partnership and their continued support for IRSSS. And to everyone who wore orange, bought a ticket to this special game, took a moment to reflect, or supported IRSSS in any way this September, thank you. We couldn't do this work without you!
