Cultural Support

To enhance our programs, the Indian Residential School Survivors Society collaborates with Cultural Support Providers (CSP) and Elders -- traditional knowledge keepers offering advice and spiritual guidance. IRSSS has a team of over twenty CSPs and Elders in BC who are qualified to provide support at gatherings, ceremonies, and workshops.

Our Elder and Cultural Support Line is available 7 days a week, between 4:30pm - 7:00pm:

Did you know? There are more than 200 First Nations in BC, each with unique traditions and history. More than 30 different First Nation languages and nearly 60 dialects are spoken in the province. As a result, through these Cultural Support Providers, the Indian Residential School Survivors Society offers various traditional and cultural protocols from many tribes and nations, and delivers a network of knowledge keepers to gatherings, rituals, lectures, and seminars.
