Qwum Qwum Xwii Xwaa: Youth Program

Qwum Qwum Xwii Xwaa (QQXX) - Youth, Justice & Intergenerational Support

Qwum Qwum Xwii Xwaa translates to “Strong Echo,” a name given to the youth support program by Shane Point, Hopokeltun, of Musqueam who shared, “Indigenous youth have the strength of our ancestors with them, and they are the echo of the future.”

What began as a 2020 pilot project has grown into a youth-focused program in the BC Lower Mainland to support the brilliance and leadership of Indigenous young people who are disenfranchised and potentially involved in the criminal justice system. IRSSS is committed to supporting communities and young people impacted by Intergenerational Trauma.

The Qwum Qwum Xwii Xwaa (QQXX) program offers specialized support for Youth and Intergenerational Survivors to help them and families find culture and build healthy relationships. The QQXX program and services are free.

We don’t see youth as ‘at-risk’, we see them as ‘with promise.’

QQXX takes a gentle relational, strength-based, and trauma-informed approach to ‘meet youth where they are’ and support growth.
