Supporting Culture & Community at Celebrating Friendship
IRSSS Attends Lejac Residential School Reunion
IRSSS was honoured to join Survivors, families, and community members at the Celebrating Friendship gathering in Prince George - a powerful reunion of more than 400 Lejac Residential School Survivors and supporters from 17 First Nations.
Hosted by Takla Nation, the event centred on reconnection, truth-telling, and the lifelong friendships that carried many Survivors through. Our wellness team - which included IRS Survivors - was there to provide emotional and cultural support and to witness the strength and healing that filled the space.
This gathering is a reminder of why the work of IRSSS remains so vital today. We walk with Survivors and Intergenerational Survivors not only in grief and healing, but in moments of joy, honour, and community - now and for generations to come.
Every action counts. Every gift moves us forward.
