IRSSS Board Director Opportunities: Apply Today
The Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS) is inviting Expressions of Interest from First Nations Intergenerational Survivors to serve on its Board of Directors.
The Board's Residential School Survivor Director positions have now been filled across all regions. The current Board has approved the addition of two Intergenerational Survivor Board seats representing Vancouver Island and Northeastern BC as part of its succession planning and mentorship strategy.
These positions support succession planning by providing opportunities for the next generation of Intergenerational Survivor leaders to learn alongside experienced Residential School Survivor Board members, while honouring the guidance, knowledge, and experience of the many Residential School Survivors and Elders who have served—and continue to serve—on the Board.
Applicants will be reviewed through the Board’s established nominations process, with regional representation, lived experience, relevant skills, and alignment with IRSSS’s values considered. This updated Expression of Interest also provides clearer information about the process and purpose of these opportunities.
Candidates with professional experience in one or more of the following areas (or related fields that would benefit the Board) are encouraged to apply:
