For over 30 years, IRSSS has been there for Survivors, families, and communities—thanks to donors like you. Unrestricted donations help us respond where the need is greatest, especially during climate emergencies and times of crisis. Together, we walk the path of healing, justice, and reconciliation.

We thank our friends at First Peoples Law for generously donating a breathtaking totem pole, carved by Charles Joseph of the Kwakwaka’wakw North Coast Nation. This powerful gift is a testament to their enduring commitment to truth, justice, and healing for Survivors. 

IRSSS Responds to Harmful Political Narratives: Recent events in BC highlight ongoing challenges to truth and reconciliation, from proposals to forcibly relocate Indigenous people to public denial of Residential School trauma. IRSSS rejects these harmful narratives and urges leaders to prioritize truth, healing, and justice.

On February 14, IRSSS joined the Women’s Memorial March in Vancouver – our staff were on the ground, providing cultural and emotional support to attendees and offering access to traditional medicines such as smudging and cedar brushings.

The Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS) strongly condemns the recent racist vandalism at the Treaty 8 Tribal Association building in Fort St. John, BC, and the hateful harassment that followed.

The IRSSS 30th Anniversary Gala was a remarkable evening of connection, reflection, and generosity. Thanks to the incredible support of our donors, partners, and attendees, vital funds were raised to continue our work supporting Survivors, families and communities.
